Phoebe Lazier, MACP Intern

Phoebe is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She brings a strong foundation in community engagement, research, advocacy, and policy work, with a focus on improving equitable access to healthcare in rural communities.
Phoebe brings a warm, engaging presence to her work and is deeply passionate about supporting youth and young adults. She is known for her genuine energy, curiosity, and ability to connect with others in a way that feels both natural and meaningful. Clients often experience her as approachable, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to, helping to create a space where they can feel comfortable being themselves.
Her approach is person-centred and strengths-based, with a focus on collaboration, safety, and trust. Phoebe is committed to creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients can explore challenges at their own pace, build insight, and develop confidence in themselves and their relationships.
Phoebe works with clients of all ages and backgrounds, with a particular passion for supporting youth and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-esteem.
Outside of counselling, Phoebe enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, reading, and cooking.
Phoebe is offering in-person session in Merritt, BC as well as virtual sessions throughout BC. She offers sessions at a significantly reduced rate and sliding scale.
Jessica Reid, MACP Intern

Jessica is a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student who brings warmth, curiosity, and deep empathy to her counselling work. From a young age, she has been fascinated by how people think, feel, and make meaning of their experiences, and she is deeply committed to understanding and supporting others in a respectful and compassionate way.
Jessica practices from a trauma-informed lens and is intentional about creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive space where connection, healing, and growth can unfold. Clients can expect to meet someone who is genuine, curious, and attuned, offering personalized support that honours each person’s unique experiences and needs. She walks alongside clients as they navigate what brings them to counselling, holding space with care and respect.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each client, drawing from narrative therapy to explore personal stories, person-centred therapy to centre the therapeutic relationship, and solution-focused therapy to highlight strengths and practical pathways forward. Jessica supports clients with a range of concerns, including identity exploration, life transitions, emotional regulation, and relational challenges.
Jessica is proud to be an Indigenous individual who is Métis with Cree ancestry on her mother’s side. She values living and practicing in alignment with the Seven Sacred Values — respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility, truth, and love — which guide both her personal life and clinical work. She brings over seven years of experience working with Indigenous communities in Kamloops, BC, including extensive experience supporting youth and over a year working as an addictions counsellor.
Jessica offers in-person appointments in Kamloops, as well as virtual sessions, and is currently accepting new clients at a reduced intern rate.
Melody Isvik
Office Manager
Melody is the Office Manager for Currents Counselling. She has diverse experiences that include legal administration, sales, owning her own business and working with vulnerable populations. In her work with vulnerable populations Melody has supported elderly and those with unique needs and abilities, including neurodivergent individuals.
Melody has a kind and compassionate approach to life and understands the importance of being kind while supporting others whether in an administrative position or working one-on-one with individuals who require patience, kindness and compassion. She has a passion for helping others who experience barriers and is eager to find new ways to make life more enjoyable for those with unique needs and abilities.
Melody works virtually and offers flexible working hours.
